Club Redevelopment
The Club is undergoing a significant redevelopment as it approaches its100-year anniversary in September 2026. With a rich history spanning 99 years, marked by continuous evolution to meet the needs and wants of our members, this redevelopment aims to blend the Club's origins with modern amenities to cater to future demands while preserving its heritage.
As most members will be aware the Club submitted a Development Application to Council for exciting renovations to our Club last year. The Board and management are pleased to announce that after some 15 months since submitting a DA, we have received approval from Council.

Redevelopment Update: August 2025

The Transition - The New Generation of the Club. The Redevelopment works are well underway, not just in the worksite but also in the Compass Terrace, if you haven’t seen the works here, now is the time to get set for the warmer months ahead. The Club has completed the Compass Deck area along with the new pizza outlet and on delivering this message the Italiano Pop Up is in Position serving great fresh Italian pasta. The Italiano Pop Up placed at the Eastern End of the Compass Terrace to provide Lunch and Dinner options and as the weather warms up, whilst work continues, and the brasserie transforms into the Wellness Centre. These works and the early transition is to shorten the building time for the overall project. The club will again bring back Great Vibes on Fridays with live music, pizza and pasta and in summer as eafood bonanza will be offered with hibachi grilled seafood. Members are reminded that the Lounge Bar area is open Friday’s through to Sunday’s, and food can be ordered or delivered to that area during construction if the weather isn’t conducive.

The Weather Unfortunately, autumn and winter saw some of the worst East Coast Low’s in Australia’s history with record rainfall. This has impacted on the timelines of the building works and has pushed the over all finishing time back several weeks. The building practical completion dates in the first quarter of 2026 which is in line with the October 100 year Club anniversary. The club had always been prepared for the works to encompass a summer, and we believe with the compass terrace upgrade, nice weather our members will have a lovely area to use and socialise.

The Findings Amongst the excavation, some sentimental findings of the club’s history were found. From sewerage tanks to rock pool pipes during the work we have uncovered some of the club’s history posting back as far as the nineteen forties and late fifties.  The best thing about modern buildings is that all drawings are now computerized and we can record the works in a better format than previous generations.

The Rise If you have been watching the work, you will see that we are rising out of the ground with some major footings and retaining walls being completed. The footings will be used to support the two new stories. The first story slab that will make up the two new dining areas and kitchen. The third story will be the function room (Top Deck) observation balcony that will continue out some twenty metre’s from the current building to give a 180 degree view of Pittwater as back drop to our function deck for weddings, parties and bandnights. The retaining wall around the Eastern side of the pool will be for the new Waterview Terrace area and most of the excavated spoil will be used to retain the new Waterview Terrace. The scaffolding has arrived and the building is rising. There has been some smaller concrete slabs poured for the new lower reception and brokerage office. As mentioned earlier you will soon see the scaffolding be deployed around the building site towards the end of August with the first slab being poured in mid-September. Things will start to move a lot quicker, the new lift well, disabled ground floor toilet have been poured.

The Members We applaud members for their patience with the carparking and boom gate during the works, as you can imagine this is a large logistical exercise with many tons of earth being moved around to make way for the Engineered Structure to take place. The Design has been managed with MCHP architect and North Construction who are building a facility that will endure many years of coastal environmental challenges. I would also like to assure members that we have their best interest in mind to ensure these works are managed to avoid any inconveniences. The club’s management and board have had to make some commercial adjustments to the operational hours of the club for the best financial and building outcomes to ensure that the members have as much accessible area as much as possible. New Restaurant alfresco dining and 180degree views of Pittwater. The First Level will have some fantastic areas to suit our diverse membership from casual dining to elevated dining, toa twenty-seat private dining area for the special occasions.
