For those who love good company and messing about in boats!
In 2023 it became the Timber and Classic Boats Division, but the membership is still open to all who would like to join, regardless of which materials your boat is constructed.
Created in 1988 by a number of club members who shared an interest in timber boats. It's a division rich in maritime history, with yachts, Halvorsens, motor launches, cruisers, converted trawlers, crayboats and more.
Why join? A fun activity is held most months of the year. Some of these are water based activities such as raft-ups in Pittwater and Broken Bay with beach barbecues, feasts, swimming, navigation trials, prawns, wine, cocktails and great company. We organise information evenings to hear about members’ trips or to follow their renovation journeys.
We also offer land-based activities to include members who no longer have boats, these include BBQ's, restaurants, ferry trips, as well as meals and activities at the club.
The division also runs the annual Timber Boat Festival where entrants from all over Sydney show their timber boats at the club during the first weekend in November. The weekend is a hive of activity with social functions, a children’s art competition, guest speakers and businesses who are showcasing their latest products. Most of the money raised goes to support local charities.
